Basic waffle recipes?

Does anyone know any BASIC... PLAIN... AVERAGE... waffle recipes that you can cook in a waffle iron/machine thingy?? What are they?

Also is it possible to make waffles in a sandwich toaster...? the ones that you press down on your sandwiches you know... not toasters but them other ones.

Thanks!Basic waffle recipes?
A waffle iron is best because a waffle isn't a waffle without it's shape. But if you don't mind that then you can use a sandwich toaster that obviously has a non-stick coating.

Here's a basic recipe for 4

INGREDIENTS

* 2 cups all-purpose flour

* 4 teaspoons baking powder

* 1/4 teaspoon salt

* 1 1/2 cups milk

* 6 tablespoons vegetable oil

* 2 eggs, separated

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat waffle iron. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, oil and egg yolks until mixture is smooth. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gently fold egg whites into batter.

2. Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour mix onto hot waffle iron. Cook until golden; serve hot.Basic waffle recipes?
I just use Complete Pancake Mix. There is usually a recipe for waffles on the box. I think the waffle batter has more liquid (water %26amp; oil) in it.

I wouldn't use a sandwich press to make waffles. The batter will end up all over the place and will not cook evenly.
